:::Mrs. Agnes Patterson, a beloved resident of Galt, passed away at her home on Oak Avenue, l
ast Monday morning, at the age of 62 years, 1 month and 12 days, following a long illness. S
he was a native of Ohio, and came to California with her husband in 1909, locating at that ti
me in Oakland. In 1915, they moved to Galt, where they have lived since. Funeral services w
ere held on Tuesday at East Lawn, in Sacramento, cremation following at the East Lawn cremato
ry. Left to mourn are her husband, Walter Patterson, two sons, Steve Patterson and Louis Pat
terson, all of Galt. Mrs. Patterson was a woman of exceptionally fine character, and despit
e the fact that she has been suffering for years, she was ever patient and loving, kind to al
l who knew her, a devoted woman to her home and family. Those who were fortunate enough to k
now her will realize now that she has passed away, what a beautiful character the community h
as lost.
From researcher Marcia Green: In 1890 court records (974,899) show that Lucius C. Sinclair a
nd his wife Olive D. Sinclair petition to change the name of Agnes Owen to Agnes Owen Sinclai
r, child of Hiram Owen, dec. and Olive D. Sinclair. Agnes was 17 on 8 June 1889.
