Age at marriage in May 1918 = 21; at birth of Glen in March1920 = 26. Marriage: Bert Hammond swore affidavid on license application, May 18th, 1918. Mr. and Mrs. Dick H. Beman (brother of Rachel) were witnesses to marriage on 19 May, 1918. Return filed May 31st, 1921 by A.L. Curtis, Minister of the gospel, resident of Castlewood, SD. Tombstone says Rachel E. Brehm 1897-____. (Oma's book says 1898). Date of birth for George is from age on marriage records and birth record of Glen. Tombstone states George H. Brehm 1893-1976. 1920 census: Watertown, Codington Co, SD (615 So. Maple) lists George (25 born in MD - parents born in Germany!-laborer) and Rachel (22) Brehem. I have the glass pitcher given to Lucy Hoftiezer by Rachel (Beman) Brehm. Rachel told Lucy that it was over 100 years old and had belonged to her mother (grandmother? - Hunter or Beman?)
