She is a direct descendant of Charles & Laura. _____________________ [1] 1820 US Census Record - Harpersfield, Ashtabula Co, OH (photocopy - see father) The recor d shows Aaron Sr. who would have been about 50y old at the time of the census, living with fo ur males and three females. [1] 1840 US Census Madison, Lake Co, OH - page 150 frame 29 (pho tocopy) The record shows Charles living with one other male and five females. They are catego rized into the following groups: Males; 1 (age under 5) presumed Solon who would have been 4y , 1 (age 30 to under 40) presumed Charles who would have been 37y; Females: 2 (age under 5) p resumed Adelaide 5y, 1 (age 15 to under 20), 1 (age 20 to under 30), 1 (age 30 to under 40) p resumed Laura Richmond who would have been 32y [1] 1850 US Census Madison, Lake Co, OH - pag e 112 frame 1 (photocopy) The record shows Charles living with his wife Laura (41y - born MA ), son Solon (14y - born OH), and three daughters, Adelaide (13y), Eva (4y), and Cornelia (2y ) all born in Ohio. All the children attended school in the previous year except Cornelia. Ch arles's occupation is listed as lawyer. The record also shows the value of the real estate ow ned was $300. Charles was listed as being 47 years old at the time of the census on July 15th , which supports earlier records of an 1803 birth year. Other sources have indicated an 180 8 birthday. [1] 1860 US Census Dell Prairie, Adams Co, WI - page 152 frame 38 (photocopy)Th e record shows Charles living with his wife Laura (50y - born MA) and three of their children , Adelaide (22y), Evaline (14y), Laurie (11y), and Charles (7y). Charles Sr. was shown to b e 57 years old at the time of the census on August 8th. [1] 1870 US Census Sherman, Dunn Co , WI - page 193A frame 1 (photocopy) The record shows Charles living with his wife Laura (61y ) and one of their children, Charles (17y). The record shows Charles Sr. was 65y old at the t ime of the census on August 3rd. This conflicts with the 1850 and 1860 census and would plac e his year of birth at 1804. The record also shows he was born in Ohio and that he owned hi s farm which was adjacent to his son Solon's farm. The value of his land was recorded as $90 0 and his personal assets at $400.
