Notes

Both marriages listed in list (D.D. & S.R. Hunter) of marriages (which included most of the children of David D. and Sarah R. Hunter) in material from Rachel Beman Brehm (in her handwriting) sent to me by Glen and Eleanor Brehm in December of 1994; unfortunately the listing for Datus E. Hunter and Mary Bessie Shook, married January 27, 189_ near St. Louis, Michigan did not include the last digit in the year, but presume it to be 1890 since she died in December of 1890. The second marriage of Datus E. Hunter to Beattie Delora Baker, married July 12 1893, at Wood Lake, Michigan is listed; the date confirms that listed by Bessie Hunter Minaker, but the place differs. There is no Wood Lake listed on my Michigan map. Montcalm Co. from Bessie's information is adjacent to Gratiot Co (of his first marriage). Thus Datus was in Michigan for some time before he went to California.
