Levi enlisted in Company B, 23rd, Regiment, Ohio Infantry, June 1,1861. He reenlisted 13 Nov. 1863 at Jefferson,Ohio and was mustered out 26 Jul 1865 at Charleston, West Virginia. He held the rank of Private and was assigned as Wagoneer/ Teamster. Levi applied for a Pension on 15 Apr 1907 per Pension Act of February 6, 1907. Marriage was recorded at Painesville, Lake co. Ohio courthouse.
