d intellect> with a wonderful passion for life and was deeply committed to his loving> fami
ly. During his life he had many professions including, chemist,> biochemist, magazine column
ist, computer scientist, taxi driver, butcher,> chef, haberdasher, navy submarine corpsman
, sales manager, painter, and> cabinetmaker, his occupation for nearly 40 years. His interes
ts and> affiliations included photography, drawing, macram, officiating soccer> games, cook
ing, classical music, archery, target shooting, beekeeping,> camping, hiking, sailing, wa
s a past member of the Optimist Club and San> Diego Power Squadron, a 10-year member of th
e US Naval Reserve, and was a> scoutmaster for a local Boy Scout troop. Richard enriched th
e lives of> nearly everyone he met and will be greatly missed. Richard is survived by> hi
s wife Graceann; brother, Jim; sons, Keith, Colin and Brian; daughter> Briana; nephew Marc
