PIONEER LADY
Susanna Harper Called to the Long Rest.
After a long journey down lifeŁus pathway, along which she has scattered much of joy and insp
iration, Mrs. Susanna Harper, widow of the late Rice Harper, has been called to her reward.
Her death occurred at 7:15 oŁuclock last evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. C. Stro
ng, at the corner of Washington and Franklin streets. Mrs. Harper had long passed the allott
ed age of mankind, her age being 88 years. She had been a resident of this city for more tha
n half a century and had many friends who loved and esteemed her. The arrangements for the f
uneral have not yet been completed.

LAID TO REST
The funeral of Mrs. Susanna Harper was held from the residence of her son-in-law, H. C. Stron
g, at the corner of Washington and Franklin streets, yesterday afternoon. The services wer
e largely attended, many of the older residents of the city being present. Rev. J. F. Butter
worth conducted the services. Mr. D. Norton, a nephew of the family, of Cleveland, was prese
nt. The remains were laid away in Oakland Cemetery.
