Tryon
county extended north to the St. Lawrence River. It's western boundary
was the treaty line established at Ft. Stanwix in 1768 as a result
of the Royal Proclamation of 1763. West of the county were the
lands reserved for the Iroquois Nation. The boundary on the east
was the counties of Albany and districts of Duanesburg and Schoharie.
The southern boundary was the west branch of the Delaware River.
