Committee of Safety. The meeting lasted three days from April 1-3, 1777,
at the house of Gose Van Alstine.

Representatives of each of the Districts were in attendance.

               Upon application of Mr.H John Harper, a Member of this
               Board, concerning a certain Road from Harpersfield
               leading to Schohary ______
Resolved that all the Settlers between Charlotte River and the Coch=
               =quagoe Branch of the Delaware River shall work upon
               the said Road in manner agreeable to the former acts of assembly
               of N. York province ____
Resolved, that the Inhabitants of Charlotte River shall be formed
               into one company, and be commanded by the following
               officers, vizt. as elected by the same vizt.____
                              Ludovick Brakeman   Capt. 
                              Joseph Bartholomes   Lieut. 
                              Daniel Service ___     Ensign____ 
Resolved, that the McDonalds, Sctos Scotch Inhabitants which
               of the said Charlotte River alike, shall join the said
               Company and train under the said Command _____
Resolved, that the Rangers of Capt. Christian Gettman's Company
               stationed at Stonearabia, shall in the Time of their Leisure,
               when and which of   them are not employed in Ranging
               out Timber for building a certain Fort on the said place
               under the sole Direction and Command of Isaac Paris Esqr.

Meeting according to Adjournment the 19th Day of Dec. 1776.

Members present, as yesterday:

               As it is Recommended by the Convention of the State of
               N. York to appoint a Goaler for the Goal County Goal
               at Johnstown, until further orders from the said Con=
               =vention, or other Legislature ____
Resolved, that Mr. Adrian V. Sickle of the Mohk. Dist. be
               the appointed Goaler of the Goal at Johnstown, to 
               -rceive and keep in custody the prisoners sent from time to
               time Sent there, and for his Salary shall have and
               Receive the Sum of Eight Pounds pr. month from the
                                                                                and Behoof
               State of New York, and besides for his own Use ^ possess
               and enjoy the two lower Rooms on the West Side of the Goal
